About

Bill Weye

BillWeye.com is the place I write about varied interests, create tutorials, keep a portfolio of design accomplishments, and collect my video work.

Work

During the day I work as a writer, web designer, and freelance instructional designer. This Website does not reflect the opinions of any current or former employer (will that keep me from getting dooced?).

Education

After years of education, I have a graduate degree in communication (not “communications”!) and I’m currently self employed as an Internet communication consultant, which means I help people with Internet related communication, including branding, design, strategy, and video.

My interests run towards the political economy of the media — what you might call the business of the media. I’m interested in the branding of media and the way corporate media is branding its product, much the way a company might brand soap. And if I keep digging, the question that I return to is “what role is the Internet playing in media branding.”

On the side I do yoga, bicycle, and hike for my body. For the mind I read and debate people.

Me, Year By Year (work in progress)

1990: I walk the Appalachian Trail, from Georgia to Maine, in four and one half months. Afterwards, I’m pretty tired.

1984: I graduate from high school, then move to Boston for college (not Boston College). I start to learn a lot of stuff.

1966: I’m born. All went well, I’m told.
